Firewood & Sawdust

From the type of work we carry out locally, any saw-able lumber goes for saw-milling with the rest going for mixed hardwood firewood, with a very low percentage of softwood.  Most of our our wood is sourced from either windfall, dead/damaged or woodland managed trees. Over 80% of our current firewood stock is locally grown English Ash.

All our wood has been down for at least two/three years before it is sold. At least a year of it being in its final split form in specially designed breathable log bags, uncovered during dry weather and covered during wet for optimum natural drying and not left in the round/cord up until delivery or rushed through an "Environmentally friendly" kiln drier, resulting in only drying the outsides of the wood. Nearly all of our firewood is below 20% moisture content, most as low as 15%, just apart from the Oak occasionally.

If you are a new customer trying to find a low carbon footprint supply of really dry hardwood firewood, you are more than welcome to pop in and pick up a bag of logs to trial before committing to a full load. We pride ourselves in producing good quality, low carbon, mixed hardwood logs without the use of government grants/subsidies to kiln dry our wood. We also run our delivery truck on used cooking oil to reduce their carbon footprint even further and there are no voids in the rear of the pickup, so you actually get 2.5 cubic meters of loose loaded logs, which is a lot of logs by the way.

Delivery mileage is calculated from our site in Farway. Delivery can usually be within 7 days of receiving the order but it will be dependant on the weather.

All our logs are hand picked and loosely loaded, so please specify the log sizes you require. Note that any logs under 10" carry an additional charge due to the extra man handling and increased time required. The prices below are based on tipping out logs on delivery, so for further manhandling/moving/stacking of logs, we charge £25 per load and a cup of tea would be jolly nice.

Please specify before delivery your maximum log length and whether you require me to bring a wheelbarrow for unloading.

Looking for a new, low carbon footprint log supplier?

Most of our current stock is locally sourced Ash, Oak & Beech.
There is less than 5% softwood mixed in with our hardwood mix.

All of our wood is locally grown, we do not import any firewood and our whole fleet of vehicles are powered by 100% used vegetable oil. (see 2Toc.co.uk)

All our firewood is naturally dried using the Sun & Wind, we do not use government funded fuelled kilns, helping us in reducing the carbon footprint of every log even further, yet still maintaining lower moisture levels than many kiln dried logs available on the market today.
